Key facts

The BUDRC is the first of its kind as national research conference in the UK

Initially starting as an idea in 2014, the British Undergraduate Dental Research Conference 2015 was the first of its kind and had resounding effects across the country. After the success of the first conference with over 200 attending students from 10 dental schools, the 2016 conference had high expectations which yet again delivered. In attendance were not only dental students from almost every school nationwide, we were also host to dental therapists and hygienists, dental technology students and even clinical tutors and professors. Speakers included world-renowned professors and a special visit from the Chief Dental Officer. Afternoon workshops featured hands-on endodontics, anterior composite masterclass, suturing as well as many more. Until now, there was little for undergraduates to get involved with in terms of academia, even at their own school. Hosting two successful conferences proved that dental students would travel from all corners of the country to learn and shape the future of dentistry. The 2017 conference will be held on Saturday 4th March.
